Description:
Renowned and legendary writer Ved Prakash Kamboj was one of the most prominent figures in Hindi popular literature during the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. Born on December 1, 1939, in Shahdara, Delhi, he developed a passion for reading while assisting his father in their artifacts shop near the Red Fort.
He began his literary journey with Indian folklore and religious texts before moving into detective fiction. His introduction to the literary world came through the celebrated author Om Prakash Sharma.
His first work, “Kangura,” was published around 1957–58 and was republished after 62 years by Neelam Jasoos Karyalay. Over time, his novels were published by Neelam Jasoos, Ratan & Company, and various other publishers across Delhi and Meerut.
His association with Neelam Jasoos spans more than 60 years and continues even today. His highly popular Singhi and Alfaanse series gained immense popularity—so much so that counterfeit novels were published under his name, though such attempts ultimately failed.
