Kamboj was introduced to the literary world by the famous writer Om Prakash Sharma. His first work, Kangura, was published around 1957-58 in Delhi, and it gained significant attention. After 62 years, this work was re-published by Neelam Jasoos Karyalay. Following this, his novels were consistently published by Neelam Jasoos Karyalay, Ratan & Co. in Delhi, and later by numerous publishers in Delhi and Meerut. His Singhi and Alphansi series became incredibly popular.
